Used to cover instruments during VFR pilot instument and IFR training
In training the HC Ward re-useable disc is used to cover over appropriate instruments when conducting partial panel VFR Pilot simulated instrument instruction as well as IFR training, new aircraft type endorsements, bi-annual renewals and other navigational proficiency issues.
As a safety aid the cover is used when an instrument becomes non-functional and complies with CAA requirements that such instruments be clearly labelled as Inoperative.
Mounting and removal Instructions: To mount the cover, align the center of the suction cup, mounted on the center of the cover disc, with the center of the selected instrument face.
Press the cover disc gently until the suction cup, holding the cover disc, is firmly in place. Release the pressure. The cover disc should now stay attached to the instrument's face.
To remove the cover disc, grab the side of the cover disc and gently peel it off the face of the instrument.
